Chapter 1: Take one deep breath at a time

One...two...inhale...exhale...

*There was a heavy knock on the door*

"Rekrut Segelinde! Its time to go!"

Great...not even five more minutes?

*Bang bang bang, the door raddled*

Sigh...I'll take that as a no then...

*Loraine slowly gets out of bed, rubbing her eyes tiredly as she looks around for her uniform and hair brush. Moving to the adjacent bathroom and combing her hair down into a soldier ready position, taking her tooth brush and cleaning her teeth and sighing once more as she spits out the used tooth paste.*

Come on, keep it together girl, another day, another mission right? You can do this!

*Saying self reassuring words to herself, she shook off the rest of her tiredness before turning, slipping her sleeping clothing off and putting on her new padded uniform with the BDM Rekurt emblem on it. Rubbing her hand over the emblem, she jumped as the door was hit once more by the commanding wing officer.*

"Lets move Rekurt! Times ticking!"

*Moving to the door, she opened it and walked into the long hall way, right behind the other officers getting ready for space.*

Crap, I forgot my boots!

*Rushing back in, tripping and hitting the bed, rubbing her side sorely*

And this is what I get for being lazy to huh...

*Speaking to herself once more as she finds her boots and slips them on, running from her room, locking the door and heading to the hanger where her Wraith was*

Right...again...one...two...inhale..exhale...you can do this!

*Climbing into her Wraith and starting it up, listening to the rumble of the engine as it started up and took to space as the bay door opened. Following several other ships into space around the hidden shipyard and research station in Frankfurt. Stopping in line next to several other Wraiths of the same ranking as her own*

Wait..why are we waiting here?

*The comms connected to another ship, a U-vessel flew into range. A sleek Rheinland Gunship with the tag and name across its hull.*

"Gut that your all here, today is the final testing phase of your BDM lifes Rekurts! The combat trials!"

Staring..deaf silence..I don't like this..

*Gripping the handles of her Wraith and waiting still*

Come on..I can do this...whats the worse that can happen..

"First up, Segelinde, Bracher!"

Crap...fighting with a person...not a drone...

*Sighing and flying into empty space, roughtly one click from Rekrut Bracher. The ships stared at each other and their engines roared..to themselves. The U-vessel turned and the captain nodded to them both to get ready.*

"On my go, you both will engage, first person to half hull loses this round. Three."

Here we go I guess...inhale..exhale...

"Two."

Again...in...out...

"One."

Dear god I'm not ready for this! Again! Inhale! Exhale!

"Fight!"
