What if Gallia?

So... Gallia. Everyone in Sirius was minding their own business, when suddenly this fifth house just shows up out of nowhere with apparently a lot of military might and a lot of owned star systems (and also a really illogical planetary cluster, but that's gone now). And then they go and wreck Leeds, messes up all the trade lanes and tries to take over the planet. They plan to completely take over all of Sirius because something something revenge.

It's been years since Gallia's debut, and from what I've gathered the general opinion on them is rather negative. Lore is nonsense, too many systems, stupid planetary cluster is stupid, that sort of thing. It's far too late to change them now and I can only wish the devs luck on that Operation Royal Flush thing they're gonna do, but I can't help but wonder if Gallia should've been introduced differently.

So I put this out there, if only for the purpose of light reading. It's of my humble opinion that Discovery Freelancer maybe should've been an alternate timeline where Gallia had always been there from the beginning, as in instead of launching in secret they launched along with all the other five sleeper ships and got to Sirius along with everyone else. But where were they during the Nomad War? We could say they closed their borders (and all jump holes to any Gallic systems misaligned) when they noticed Rheinland acting up, and reopened when the whole thing ended. I'm not entirely sure if everything (Council stuff, Leeds invasion, that thing with Normandy, etc.) would still play out the same like this, either exactly the same or with different circumstances but the same outcome anyway or maybe even something else entirely.

What do you guys think? Is this worth discussing, or would you rather fly through Gallic space while listening to that not-really-spacey kinda-unfitting-sorry Gallic music?
