What I on the other hand don't understand is the incessant attempts at convincing me, that I am somehow obligated to like and enjoy everything. That I may never express disapproval - argument-backed or not.

Not quite sure I should indulge a pathetic attempt at insulting my intelligence and rationality, but since you did question my arguments for not enjoying Gallia as much as you do, then let me explain:

Gallia happened by popular demand for something new and fresh. a titanic amount of very high-end devwork went into it, nowhere NEAR as much as anything existing factions could ever expect to receive. The backstory was as ridiculous as it was unstoppable, it disrupded relationships that evolved over years and essentially destroyed one of the most popular activity hubs in existence at the time. All that in the name of novelty and a very poorly-written piece of lore. I FIRMLY believe, that Gallia's emergence did more damage to the mod's playerbase than the noelty and freshness effects could compensate for.
