No.
When you encounter Indy players dont wave them off with their rp. Don't treat them differently or with less respect than the official faction. There are people behind those ships that wana have fun. Don't brush them off automatically.
"oh it is just an Indy..."
No. It is a player pertaining to a faction. Treat it as such.
Oh have you been playing for longer and think you deserve more? Please. If you have played longer than you know how much of a pain in the butt that is.
How about respect them, invite them, play with them, interact, notice them.
We need to make a change here, folks. This behavior we have now especially from leaders is toxic.
I agree with this whole-heartedly, indy players are sometimes treated as second-class citizens because the general assumption is that because they are indys they must be new thus can't RP / know the rules and are therefore ignored.

I see this all the time in every area of disco I have seen Official faction members slagging off indys in group coz they did something wrong or dont RP correctly.
But funny thing is just because you are official it does not mean you are right, I remember an occasion involving a BAF| recruit in Leeds.
In that instance, there was a battle going on between the BAF and the GRN, when the battle started there was no BAF| senior officer present so I took lead of the bretonian attack directing how the battlegroup should behave being the most experienced player there.
Mid-way through the thick of the fighting, a BAF| ensign joined the fray and immediately attempted to seize control of the operation, we were winning but his first order was for us to retreat and I thought why should we retreat when we can win.
I told the group to ignore his commands and continue fighting, luckily I was right and we won that battle; but because I (being an indy player although experienced) ignored his commands he began abusing me in group and shouting all kinda of crap that I was a traitor I should be executed etcetc.
The abuse then continued into Manchester where said player who was in a bomber began following me and trolling along the way by firing CDs at me which is really annoying. He then declared that I was KOS and began firing Snacs and Novas at me. Remember this is an official BAF| member firing on a indy BAF ID Dunkirk because he didnt like how I was RPing ignoring his orders which were illogical.
So yeh this just shows that being an official faction member does not mean anything and it certainly does NOT make you better than the indy player, because in this instance the official faction member was engaging in ooRP behaviour against an indy player of the same ID without authority from higher-ups to do so first. It also highlights the attitude an official faction member can have over indys, which is the core of this problem.
In my experience, if the RP of an official faction is illogical then I will ignore said players and treat them how they would treat indys....
