I wanna know what's that about, since it's a bit over the top of what a "Freelancer" would do and makes no sense, AT ALL[. So i would like an explaination about this. Not to mention this came out of nowhere, when our patrols are roaming around like never before, i even doubt our people (iRP) would even let anyone approach Leeds the way you (Redfire) mentioned.
I will be waiting your response.
You shall have your response.
1. Redfire acted on his own, not on behalf of FL-ER, he merely requested their aid and some of them agreed to help him. It is mentioned in the thread about the attack on Leeds (specifically the one in Stories&Biographies) that Redfire refers to the team he gathered as "Militaires Sans Frontieres" a name that FL-ER uses for itself, in order to make his team feel better about the mission.
2. Back in 4.85 and throughout the late 4.86 Redfire was a local pirate in Liberty, mostly active in Galileo and California. Followed by a period of my own inactivity through most of 4.87, I've written in Redfire's story how he has been arrested by the LPI, a Bretonian mercenary who Redfire met in prison helped him and several others escape from that prison. Once they went free, the Bretonian learned about the Gallic invasion of Leeds and went to fight for the resistance as a means to earn his keep and reputation, Redfire never paid him back, as the invasion of Leeds progressed and BAF support declined, the Bretonian contacted Redfire in hopes that he could send aid of any sort, Redfire saw this as a way to return the favor and make up for his past crimes.
3. FL-ER is a well funded organization with a group of trained fighters, mostly working as escorts, but since Redfire was already part of the group, he figured he could persuade them to help him return the favor to his friend, which he did.
EDIT: About the patrols you mentioned, most freelancers and pirates are aware about a jump hole located in Magellan leading directly into Leeds so they did not have to actually fly through Bretonian space, and the transport there will be protected by a cloud, the only exposure will be between the cloud and planet Leeds itself, where the GRN patrol DID find the transport and eventually shot it down as mentioned in the story.
I hope this answers your questions, if you wish I clarify anything else, I'll be happy to do such.
