Charging with Light BS is perfect tactic... With heavies okay, but with Mako? Here is your problem.

That's the problem, there's no other way, even running and strafing results in failure, it's easy for the gebs to just side strafe and keel things.

This here makes no point if you ask me. As the geb could side strafe, so can you, after all the mako is a good side strafer. And as said already, I'm not even talking about one on one fights, but group fights. Bringing that entire new model in a group fight will get you on a OP level.

In group fights, the Geb can TS and turn faster, it has way more armor, and it's more thin than the mako and has less vertical width than the mako, making it hard to charge even with 2 makos.

Geb could even TS, but its a group fight and as such, the Geb can be a walking target for threshers or battlecruisers and it also has the hull of a light battleship aka 800k.

And those group fights are my entire point, you have a mako, battlecruiser, thresher and bottlenose (the last one can be pretty useful against battleships) and now if you add this entirely new model, things will get imbalanced.

The whole problem I see with this ship being a potential AP addon, is its shape and fwd gun (not to mention you already have a complete ship line). As I already said, adding something that changes the shaping that AP follows completely, will change the way of how core tactics are handled in combat, and thus ruin the whole balance.

And to be more specific - lets say you have a mako and a thresher combo against an ossie and rehseph combo, on each side you have two ships that are in a way resembling each other and this is part of the balance itself.

I haven't mentioned the Geb here on purpose, as Order has Geb, the same way Core has a battlecruiser, and this also implies on balance.
