Akane was born and raised amidst the radical Golden Chrysanthemums, absorbing ideas about matriarchy and female rights. Within the circles of social groups, however, sat a specific ring of cardamine addicts that praised the Outcasts for their orange dream. This group is who Akane identified with and needless to say, her Blood Dragon father was upset. Conflict between the two became common, until one day, the group that Akane so loved had began to move to the further reaches of space. The Omicrons. Akane was left behind, like a good memory covered by a thick blanket of drug abuse.
She needed to escape, to see something else beyond Kusari. She followed them.
She applied for the Lance, taking up a logistical role in the Family, but still manning the guns when needed. This experience not only equipped her with valuable friendships and connections, but also educated her on the ways of the Outcasts, their religion, culture and even language were assimilated into Akane's mind, merging her with the people she found solace in.

With the recent dissipation of the Lance, Akane lacks purpose in Malta and seeks to redeem the familial friendships and connections she once upheld. She's looking to be an Outcast once again.

• How much time are you able to devote to the Blood Roses?: About an hour day, perhaps? That number is obviously exaggerated on weekends where I have much more time, of course.
