Considering the nature of the incidents and the relations between zoners groups (not united) it does not make sense that all zoners become hostile to the Order because a few zoners were involved in these incidents. Remember when Corsairs assaulted ZTC, the other zoners groups were not affected (or just in the beginning. But maybe it was a mistake to not rephack the whole community?).
I think the current tensions between zoners and the Order should be roleplayed on a character basis. Each zoner group leader should decide independently how to adapt the diplomacy of his group with the Order. Each zoner indie should also decide if they want to take position in this conflict or to remain neutral. Considering the fact that zoners are not united, I find it makes no RP sense that leaders of official factions or admins decide that zoners indies must become hostile to the Order.
When I play my zoner characters (which are my main ones) I usually spend my time in the omicrons. Considering friendly interactions with my favourite faction won't be possible anymore and that I am not interested to move to Tau systems (to ignore this rephack) or rebuild my characters with Order ID, I seriously consider to stop playing these characters.
I agree. But then again if Order withing itself starts choosing sides that might split The Order. That's even worse.
But it IS logical decision to give others freedom of choice.
After all - we're out there all alone, and considering that The Order usually operates in the corner of No and Where, where we need at least one ally in the war against the Nomads, this decision seems plausible.
How can the Order now survive with almost everyone hostile? Decision to go to war with Zoners is strategically flawed in RP, at least in the long run.
