No offence Vulk, but that sounds like you're implying that 'If the indie faction is so horribly limited, they should join the official faction, rather than flying independently in an open NPC faction'. Players should be free to play the NPC faction independently without being horribly pushed into a corner by a limited ID or being forced to join the official faction to have any sorts of fun. And what about players kicked from SCRA? Once they're booted from the faction, for whatever reason (ranging from typical rule breaks or maybe even as Mimir stated disagreements in gameplay and direction) that pretty much closes the door on them for coalition RP.
I hate to sound all "fight da powa!" but is it really relevant at all if SCRA think the ID is fine? SCRA have their own, far far far superior ID that doesn't have the needless limitations. In their shoes I'd say it's very unwise for them to say the indie ID is fine. It's like the rich brother saying his poor sister is economically fine, they may be of the same family however that doesn't necessarily mean everything is ok for the sister.
Are SCRA afraid that they're going to start having indies? They shouldn't worry that indies might impact negatively on their officialdom and popularity - if anything a boost to the indies is going to increase the interest in coalition RP which will certainly lead to people joining the official faction.
