BREAKING NEWS: Core launches attack on Yaren Base in Omicron Delta
The Core has today launched a surprise attack on a depot in Omicron Delta known as Yaren Base. The base is well known in the Omicron edge worlds to be a Corsair forward outpost, but its position in orbit of Planet Nauru, a planet which the Core has been looking to colonise, has made it a prime target for the Core primary fleet. The Corsair defenders were staging from the Battleship Grenada, a Murmillo class ship, which has been destroyed in the fighting.
While the Corsairs put up a stalwart attempt at holding back the Core attackers, their enemy's numbers and determination proved much too great for the small defence force present at Yaren. While it is unknown to this reporter what the Corsair Empire's response to such an attack will be, one can only assume that once the news reaches Crete some kind of retaliation will be in short order.
