You're going to need a clean install of vanilla (unmodded) Freelancer. Using both FLMM and Crossfire have undoubtably corrupted your Freelancer files and there's no other way to fix it properly. While it might have worked for other mods, Discovery 4.87 onwards has a strict installation process in order to avoid bugs and/or file corruption.

PS. Don't use FLMM... just make separate copies of the game and install mods manually, and don't forget to back up then wipe SP save files when switching between mods.
