A corsair bomber pilot defending Crete on his own, would NEVER give up. No matter what the odds.
You have to understand, in a fight somewhere else, I would have retreated, but I can't let a Bounty Hunter battleship just sit outside Crete now can I?
Like I said, reinforcements were on the way. And I was keeping him busy.
' Wrote:i have to agree with marauder there - with the last point. - there is an attitude even among serious RPers that can only be described as a competitive attitude, but not a roleplaying one.
the only, very only reason for a small ship to keep a capital ship busy is to give their people time to retreat or whatever else. - but most certainly not to attack. - when people realize that the least thing a character wants is to die - and if we assume that the stupid "respawn" thingy does not really exist, - a lot of fights could be more realistic.
a fight should be the last thing to do - and survival is the primary issue of every character ( leave fundamentalists who value their life to be only worth of sacrifice ).
i am a believer of such hardcore modes as in diablo 2 - one character = one death. - of course that doesn t work in freelancer. - but i try to treat my chars as much as possible as if it was like that. engage a fight only when there is a chance to win, - retreat as quickly as possible if it turns against myself. - rather fly 750.000 clicks off the map to avoid dieing.
so, the appropriate action would have been to initiate cruise and retreat.

EDIT:(Espcially not after he started the fight by saying "Commencing bombardment of Crete...")
