I completely agree about moving the restart point. I would also move the "fancier" equipment buying spot from Anjou to Leeds, which I had already suggested to Tachyon, and he told me it will be done (soon?).
Why don't you start a thread about the restart location? It could make a difference and it could make Gallia better. I could do it too, but I don't want to steal the idea, and I have a feeling that people will start posting "dude, why do you make so many threads?" instead of discussing politely.
I do agree that usual House wars like LN vs. RM are less interesting than the one of good vs. evil, but apparently most players think differently. Texas and Hamburg were always more popular than Leeds and Magellan. Maybe the restart location is one of the main reasons? It seems to me, and I wish I realized it before.
On the other hand, another main problem of Gallia is that it is widely considered as the antagonist. There was even some thread asking who was the prime antagonist of Sirius, and Gallia got quite a lot of votes. Most players would rather play for the good than for the evil.
If Gallia is going to continue facing so many factions on the same front, I think it should be made less evil, otherwise its playerbase will never be able to keep up.
