After hearing rumours on Ouray about a Navy battle group in Colorado, I took to my bomber for investigation. It turned out that there were some rookies flying gunboats and a carrier. As ludicrous as that may sound, it’s true; I cease to be amazed as to the fluff they let in nowadays. I found them at Denver and soon after activating my codename I was joined by Revels. We had little trouble in destroying two gunboats and a fighter, but for some reason they quickly unmoored from the planet with more of the same, and so we duly dispatched them again. Several times, actually. No idea where they kept on spawning their craft from but we eventually turned back because we felt it was pointless repeatedly fighting them as our ammunition dwindled. We did not manage to take out their carrier as it docked with the planet, but it certainly would have had a wonderful repair bill to look forward to.
Upon returning to base we encountered the 5th division and a fight ensued. Revels landed a beauty of a shot on their pal John Malkovich with his antimatter, while their Admiral was also obliterated and Webb was chased all the way to Fort Bush where he ultimately met his maker. That will keep them quiet for a while, I’d have thought.
With only minor damage, it turned out to be a very successful night for us.
