"True, this is sudden, considering you've never had any contact with the Republic before.
As for how the TAZ know of you, I couldn't tell. Maybe your work was remarkable enough for them to notice it, even if you didn't deal with them directly.
Then again - since you seem eager to know more details, I suppose i can tell you as much as i'm able to.
I'm sure you are aware that the Republic has begun the colonisation of Yuma; it's been almost a year since it started. What isn't really easy to find out - due to lack of interest on the news' departments part, i guess - is that the planet itself is not as easy to inhabit as one would think. The entire continent, as well as the various islands covering the surface, is covered in a ... shall i say 'peculiar' type of vegetation. This flora has so far shown extreme resilience and a gargantuan speed in reproduction, thus making it quite impossible for the Republic to remove any of the plant-life for longer than about 2 days. I'm afraid i can't offer any details on the plants though, since it's not my field.
Still, so far - we've settled on the planet using a different approach; and now we want to engage the flora issue again.
The Minister of Science felt it would be best if the Crayterian research teams worked in cooperation with outside scientists. Thus, we've already ensured help from the Cryer corporation; but given your renown status, we hoped you could give a hand as well.
The main purpose of the project is to devise a toxin that would either eliminate the plant-life or at least halt its invasive spreading without any side-effects to humans or the planet's eco-system.
As for what you could get out of this, that's more or less up to you, but it remains to be discussed properly."
