The Polizei technical adviser is perfectly right by stating that the localized distortions of the surrounding electromagnetic waves around the ship are due to the combination of lamellar inductors and the passive superconductor coils. The created negative interferences cancel out the incoming positive waves as shown on the figures bellow.
Our house and several others less well intended organizations have immediately understood the utility and power of such devices. Indeed, the canceling of the wave’s reflection in a certain part of the electromagnetic spectrum renders the EM bender invisible to the naked eye as well as for scanners and other tools using either the visible part of the spectrum or waves with a length of smaller frequencies.
However, we, at the Daumann Heavy Construction R&D department, have very small use of that part of the spectrum, besides pranking graduates students during some extra vehicular activities. At the department, we see those EM bender devices as a way to annihilate all possible distortions resulting from a change of angle of the source wave. And this in a much higher part of the spectrum. We are interested in wavelengths from ultraviolet to gamma rays. Beyond those, the waves would just pass through the atom of the ship anyway.
Why those wavelength you may ask. Well I’m specialized in matter sudden deconstruction physics. As you may know, an electromagnetic waves is the result of radiation caused by the acceleration of charges particles at very high velocities. For instance, during the splitting of an atom, a large quantity of those gamma rays is released. Precisely measuring this amount of radiation is vital to us. The more the laboratory can detect, the better we have deconstructed matter.
This field of research can lead to several improvement of our daily life: Better mining arrays. Or more concentrated antimatter in a mortar shot. Even less energy consuming devices. The possibilities are almost endless as we are a species with an existence depending on how much energy we can use and store.
But I’m losing track here. To answer your question, Indeed the EM bender can render the laboratory completely undetectable until a counter device is activated and even if it will not be its use, remain the existence of such possibility.
This leads to the second point raised in your communication. The use of the ship and it’s cloaking component. Right now, the DHC R&D department has ordered me to get as much information as my team can get about this problematic jump gate. Hence my presence in the Hamburg system. Therefor the use and only use of this ship until further notice from the DHC board of executive is to study the environment near and inside the gate. The Westfallen will be my mooring base during my researches.
In any case, this laboratory cannot be used for trading purposes. Indeed, once loaded with the needed heavy cloaking batteries, there is not an inch left available in the cargo hold. Nor will the ship be affected to another system until more can be studied from the broken gate.
