I gree with Exodus: I hav a cheap Keybord at Home. I thougt:" So many Buttons and Functions! It must be good!." Problem: None of these Functions are Good.
Best Choice: an E-Piano. A Piano shout sounds like a Piano!

It depends on what Sindroms thinks his sister will do with it. It sounds like we're going down the 'having lots of fun with keyboards' route, so I'd mostly agree with Exodus's sentiments.

But yes, Protege is correct - there is a definite difference in function between a hardware synth and a keyboard, even if some of the lines do blur between them. A keyboard is more of a performance instrument.
