As I sit on Rostock Station in Omega 15 I watch the Insane antics of my Fellow A51ers. "These Bounty Hunters just dont seem to know what to think of them" I say to myself.

"Just how did we come to be Bounty Hunters?" I ask myself. Oh yeah I remember how it began, It was on that Spaceport Bar on Manhatton not long after the first of us arrived here.....

The Place: Manhattan spaceport bar, New York System.

Four men sit at a table in the far back of the bar. If one was very observant, he would note that they seem... different. Nothing you could put your finger on. The clothes are of a vaguely different design, though not out of place. They seem to be slowly taking in their surroundings as if this is their first time here. They are obviously wary, but do not seem particularly concerned. Talking in low voices they begin their discussion.

Kane: Well, it seems the advance group has arrived. Ghost has done a good job of getting us some credits together to start equipping our people as they arrive. Nothing fancy of course, but it's a start.

Kvant: This is a strange place. They have no knowledge of waffles.

Ghostrdr13: We have identified a good trade route and ships so we can begin amassing the credits for the fleet. We need to identify where we will fit in here. I have noted an abundance of pirates here. They are quite bothersome when trading. On the other hand, they ask for tolls or donations instead of just blowing up your ship. We will have to discuss what our response to them will be.

Kane: That's as it always is in a new place. We must be patient. We need to fit in and gather our strength. Most of all we must watch and find out how things are done here. Mistakes are costly, we need to avoid them.

Kvant: Seriously, I went to three food dispensers, the bar, and two restaurants. No Waffles. I asked a couple of people and they just shook their heads and asked me where I was from. What kind of place is this?!

Kane: Deacon, how are you doing?

Deacon: As well as can be expected. Since I turned control of our forces over to you the reduced stress has halted the progression of the Psychosis. < Deacon pulls a small black box from his pocket and opens it. He pulls a purple pill from the box. Put it in his mouth, bites down and slides the pieces under his tongue. He then pulls another pill from the box, crushes it in his hand and drops the pieces into Kvants drink.> I have my moments, but I am functional.

Kvant: < Kvant takes a drink and looks off in to space for a moment. His eyes clear and he turns to Kane > Oh yea..... That license thing they have here. We have to have one to show our function in this place. Id suggest going freelancer.

Kane: Sounds good. Gather credits, upgrade our equipment and ships as we can. Contact our people as soon as they arrive and help them get started. You know they will be disoriented. Get them medicated and get them started doing something useful. And on the subject of medication, Deacon?

Deacon: Yes Kane. What do you wish me to do?

Kane: Usual plan. We need someone to find out if this place has the materials available to manufacture the purples. You're available. Are you up to the job?

Deacon: As long as my supply of little helpers holds out I should be able to. I'll check out the inventory at Cryer and then head to the border worlds when I am equipped well enough. There is usually a source of the raw materials out that way.

Ghostrdr13:< sloshes a bit of his drink on the table and begins to trace an outline of a ship. > I'm telling you that Rhineland Battleship is the moooooossssst beeaaauuuuutttifffulll ssshhhiiipppp.. <Sigh>

Kane: <Rolls his eyes. Pulls a gold box from his pocket. Pulls out two purple pills and takes one. > Ghost, buddy........ open wide!! < Kane tosses the pill in to Ghostrdr13's mouth as though it is something they practiced. Ghost swallows the pill. Takes a deep breath and shakes his head.>

Ghostrdr13: Oh damn. Sorry about that.

Kane: <Shrugs> It happens. I seem to remember Deacon arguing with a Ficus tree in a staff meeting once upon a time. However, tell everyone to take their meds. We need to stay under the scanners for a while. Definitely don't need any "mental health professionals" after us until we have a place to call home. Lord only knows what they would try to do with us here. Ok, so we all continue to do the make credits thing. Kvant, as the opportunity arises I need an assessment of the fighters here. Ghost, you find out about the capships. I need to know the capabilities and weaknesses. Deacon searches for materials to make purples, and investigates the borderworlds here.

Ghostrdr13: What are you going to be doing boss?

Kane: Me? Well I have an idea. I think I'm gonna go talk to some Bounty Hunters. Keep in contact at all times. Dismissed.

Thats how it began. Not long after we was told that the Bounty Hunters would welcome us with open arms.......we changed our IDs and set up shop on Rostock.
