Imho, official status is a flawed concept in the first place. It judges factions solely through a clock, regardless of RP quality or actual RP contribution to the server.
If there was no such thing as officialdom, we might have more people trying to cook up groups for the same faction and their worth would be judged by actions, not by what is essentially a stopwatch.
