So I was told last night by my ISP that it was a problem with my network...

I promptly said "duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" (Literally!)

My ping are the same to the computer operating the server as they are in the attachments. I was told running the server on my own computer would make me the server and it would be technically imposable for me to randomly disconnect without me freezing up, crashing lagging, or switching it off while playing. So I'm lost even more.

I will post the letter I sent to EA Games with all the info on it soon.

Also, if worst comes to worst. Is there a way I can just reset my home network all together, clear things up and star a fresh?

Cheers:cool:

EDIT:

Letter sent to EA Games:

Hi,

I have recently had a problem with my server I host. It has driven me up
the wall. here is the issue.

I setup the server today to do filming. It works great. I can access it
with Battlefield 1942 Remote Manager 2.0 (final) and use the server manager
which is also 2.0 (final)

I had 6 people on today for three hours, they had no trouble and really
enjoyed their stay. Then I decided to play. I tried to log in, but
couldn't see the server in the "Local" server list within Multi-Player. I
resorted to the ADD SERVER feature, entered the IP and port number and it
connected fine. After about 5 minutes of game-play, I got disconnected from
the server. I was confused, my PING averages 0-3 and I have no problems
with others playing at all.

I have an 8.0mb connection with 8mbp/s DOWN and 128kb/s UP
I'm using The Battlefield 1942 Server Manager 2.0 Final from black-bag-ops
Battlefield 1942 Remote Manager 2.0 Final from black-bag-ops
This is what I get when I ping my server located downstairs to mine.

-------
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.100:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = -8ms, Average = 1073741820ms
-------------

I am using a Linksys WAG325N ADSL 2+ Router
Cabled with every computer relevant to the server

Sometimes my ping spikes to 110 and goes back to 0 and averages 3 again. I
tried hosting the server with the same settings on another computer, and I
got the same result. I had the server running on my computer, and started
playing, and I got the same issue. I disconnected. Sometimes instantly as
soon as I try to load the map. Other times when I play around. and when
just waiting for it to happen.

I checked the server logs, and the server did not crash, I know this for a
fact.
The internet works a treat. I can access anything I want and everything
works fine, as well as connecting to other Battlefield 1942 servers. I got
a ping of 120 from a server in Prague. Which is very good for a New
Zealander.

My ISP is Actrix Networks, on full speed connection.

I have port forwarded everything I need, and all are working, as others can
see the server and connect. (ports listed bellow in the screenshots attached
along with Direct X Diagnostic Report and ping tests to both my Internal and
External IP)

192.168.1.100 is the IP that is used for me to connect to the server, as the
server is running on the computer with that IP.
202.154.154.179 is my external IP. It is not static, but is visible in the
Server list. and others can connect.

I have not done any 'port triggering' or anything else. I find it strange
my 'LOCAL' server doesn't show in the 'LOCAL' server list. And when it does
I need to wait around 5 minutes after hitting the refresh button to actually
see it.

Any help would be appreciated!
Hope that covered everything.

Regards,
David Hall
