First time I've been out into the big black for a while, and what a night it was!

Upon undocking from Ouray I started my usual rounds, heading to the nearest trade lane ring, tagging it, waiting for a few seconds then flying on the New York jump gate. On the edges of the Silverton field near the gate I met a few miners and after a few circles to make 'em paranoid headed on to my next waypoint. Partway to my next destination I find a CSV named 'Boots.' Now he's sporting a police IFF, but it slipped my mind to run a scan for IDs, but I'm fairly sure he had a Police 'un.

Because of this, this made him a prime target for suspicion. I tailed him for a bit then requested he leave the field. Black.Mamba chooses this moment to undock from Ouray and we both amuse the listening miners for a while, Mamba showing us all his banjo skills. Of course Boots now responds he's going to get the fleet. I took this to mean he had a big brother in a cruiser on Manhattan or something, but it turned out he'd just reported our position to the SA.

Boots left, jumping to New York, shortly to return with two SA ships. He then attempted to lure us out, but us being cunning Xenos stayed put all the whilst aggravating our pursuers. I returned to Ouray to drop off some bounty hunters, and Mamba held position at the New York jump hole. As I turned the 'Hunters over to our PR people, Mamba called to tell me the SA had found him. I sauntered over, wondering what good my 'lil Blazer could do. I arrived to find the area surrounding the JH empty, so I jumped through to go find 'em. They were on the other side duking it out in Junker territory, so I took the opportunity to launch myself at the SA in the hope I might draw some fire.

After a while all of Mamba's guns got blown off, so we agreed to fall back. I jumped back through, and Mamba was tagged as he disengaged. I jumped back, snagged his escape pod and high-tailed it back to Ouray. Back at Ouray I seethed in the bar for a while thinking about how the little slime ball Boots had betrayed us to the Navy. I put out a call to a pirate in New York to ask him if he had seen Boots anywhere, and he responded as an affirmative. Delighted I jumped back in the Blazer to take the little traitor out. Of course he happened to be outside Manhattan discussing law with a mass of Navy type people. Luckily for me the SA werent present. Unluckily for me, the LNS something-or-other in a gunboat was.

I did a fly-by on Manhattan, picked out Boots and pulled out of cruise at the last moment, of course as a mob of trader-folk squawked 'Xeno! Xeno!' over the system channel. I mean, is mah Blazer really that scary? After a while Boots turned tail and activated cruise engines, which presented me the perfect opportunity to stop dodging and pump him full of gunfire. He popped in a flurry of complaints and a whoosh of flame. And disappointingly a whoosh of hydraulics as his escape pod was kicked free. I was pretty beat up and taking fire so I fired up mah engine and ran home for a drink. Boy can I tell you it's good to be back in space!
