Most players posting here, with exceptions to few, have no understanding of why the devs have done that. Its quite simple - Cerberus are so much good in their "duty" that they've become like "integrated" to every battleship in the game and if you have none then you lose in 1v1 (bb vs bb) scenario in close range of below 3k or in short - you are diminishing your dps by thousands.

Meanwhile a lot more options are available like missles, razors and mortars but both of them are obsolete to mount in comparison with the cerberus. So the choice to nerf Cerberus will make them less useful to mount in Heavy Slot - but in same time will make other heavy weapons more useful as well. So this "nerf" is also close to "buff" to missles, razors and mortars - which will be viable now.

And also most important change that this fix will handle will be...the "fast" battleship battles. Without cerberus as primary long range spam tool - battleships will participate longer on the battlefield and provide more of what they can to offer. Think of it as a buff to battleships where they will increase their suitability on the field.

And before you start throwing rocks at me - I love battleships and my main char was stuck in one for years. I am rusty now but I've trained a lot of players in the past and have good understanding of these ships. Back then cerberus were not so viable and battles were longer. After implementation of "new" cerberus with 45k shot damage - things changed badly and 1v1 or (bb vs bb) battles become dull...super dull. Now the challenge would be far more greater.
Adapt to the changes and dont while because someone nerfed a weapon that had to be handled before years.
