Maverick had sat in his seat talking to Mr. Hunt about the corsair involvement and expecting Hunt to pull this miracle ace out of his sleeve. As Maverick had given the decision To extend the hand of peace to the Corsair nation and Follow Hunt's lead, He is then informed that a message had been Pre-recorded as some buttons were pressed and the transmission sent off. When the Transmission ended and the Feed had closed, Maverick sank in his seat. This is where Hunt had dug a hole and pulled the Cincinnati to the same fate as him. Maverick stands up, cocks his neck to the side, popping joints in several locations before moving to the sliding bulk door of his quarters and on his way to the Front bridge to speak to Sylus.
Maverick walks down the hall, and through double doors to the complex structure as he had many times before. Seeing his crew sitting Idle in seats and standing, watching sensors and radar periodically. Crew members chat amongst the floors and bridge of miscellaneous topics and old stories. Standing just past the double doors peering around the primary deck amongst the computers and panels before locating Sylus standing near the comm's, talking to some members on Deck 9 about the Engines.
Mav approaches. "So, What'd he say?" questioned Sylus, Crossing his right arm over his chest and putting the Mic on his left pectoral. "He had a message pre recorded. He sent it off as he spoke to me. Is that Nine?" "Yeah. They're struggling to keep her working together. Something amongst the ship seems to have cut the power of the core Can't get above a ten percent read.." Sylus looks at the gauges and directs Maverick's attention to the instruments on the side panel just below the mic. Visible is a bunch of needles and digital layouts with complex numbers and various arrays. Maverick slides up a little bit and starts to peer into the display from Deck 9. Looking them over one by one. Gears turn within Maverick's brain as he analyzes them carefully, scanning and panning from one to another as if looking at a jigsaw. "Hmmm... Come with me." Maverick plucks out subtly. "Nine, standby." Sylus speaks through the Mic to the crew. "Aye. We'll hold, Customer service. This call recorded? I'm not satisfied with my interaction." A crewmate from 9 playfully remarks. "Psh," Sylus snarks, "Hardly." Sylus turns to return the mic to the fixture as Maverick takes it out of his hand. "This is the Manager speaking. Please stay on the line as we look into your problem.", Maverick laughs playfully back at the Crew mate as his chuckle is heard over the other line. The mic is returned to the holding place as Sylus and Maverick sway to the other side of the Bridge together.
Maverick gets down on one knee, popping open a panel and gazing into the wiring and intricacies of the Cincinnati's main controls. One under the registration reader. A small HUD is visible under the panel, showing some lights. A couple unlit and a whole lot lit. "Hmm." Maverick ponders with a squint and glare. He stands up and presses a push panel, that Ejects a card from the terminal. "Son-of-a-Gallic." Maverick says with a harsh low tone. "This is it. Right here." he Continued. Maverick tosses the card to Sylus who catches it, Looks it over, flipping it from front to back repeatedly. "The hell is this?" Sylus asks. "Guess you could say it's the Keys to the ship. It's an ID card. Programmed onto it is me. They blacklisted us.. We're just normal persons now and the card won't pull the Core up on full power without proper Naval registration ID." Maverick explained, "We're basically dead in the water." Sylus' concern grew and was soon expressing it to Maverick in uneasy gestures and headshakes. "Man, that's unreal. Even this far out." Sylus said. "We knew it was coming. Just didn't know when. Either way. We're going to need to cross some wires and start pulling out systems." says Maverick.
Sylus and Maverick knew what had to be done. The card returned to the ship, The captain calls down to the engine room on Deck 9, telling them the issue. Given the command, The Cincinnati comes to life, and they set out departing from Navarro and to see what they could find around them.
