Trivial problems such as an assassination of a government official or a blackmailing of a military commander were taking him no longer than several minutes to solve. More complex schemes plagued by a number of unknowns usually took no more than several hours to be completed. This time, however, instead of a typical joy of an intellectual fulfilment he felt growing restlessness for several days now. Perfectly masking it under his brilliantly played pose of an omniscient mastermind, Moriarty was haunted by uncertainties.
