RE: The Voronov/Eagle_one incident
I would like to say a few things. I know the pilot of the Eagle_one rather well, and as an ex Brotherhood pilot, i know a few things about TBH too. Let me speak as an impartial onlooker.
From what I gather, the Voronovs were engaged in an honorable duel, and were interrupted by Eagle_one. This was wrong of Eagle, he should have stayed out. However as has been mentioned above, he was young, naive, all he was trying to do was kill the damned Hessian. I am sure that if the Voronovs had taken a bit more time to explain to him, that they do not want to make the fight unfair, he would have stood by and not joined in the fight.
I have complaints regarding the incident.
1. They let the Hessian go. I don't care what Eagle_one did, you kill the enemy first, deal with internal arguments later.
2. I do not agree that Eagle_one should have deferred to Ivan Voronov. He was not under TBH command, if the Voronovs found this behavious to be one of treason, they should have presented the case to the Elders, instead of taking justice in their own hands.
Though I believe the Voronovs were right to be angered by Eagle one's interruption, I am disgusted that they reacted so harshly as to fire upon another Corsair. All he was doing, albeit stupidly, was to try and help.
Regarding the authority matter. What authority does a TBH Centurion have over independent Corsairs, or any other Corsair for that matter outside of the Brotherhood? Am I to understand then, that as leader of the OPG, I can issue orders to TBH Centurions and their lower ranking pilots? Even if I did say, have this authority, it would be disrepectful of me to use it, and especially disrespectful to TBH if I destroyed his/her ship for not deferring to me.
I find the report biased and inaccurate. If Eagle one was insubordinate, this should have been reported to the Elders. The punishment for treason is indeed death, but a Centurion does NOT have the authority to either decide that said action was treason, OR to pass down the punishment.
Asno Muleo, disappointed to find Carlos on the verge of leaving command of the Benitez, and careless threats of civil war at home, when we do not have enough forces to fight the enemies we have at our doorstep...
