And, more importantly, a friend of Cristofers would very likely not have gotten access to the files of his assassination, at least not that fast - and therefore it threw up the question where that... Individual... knew of Jane. Either way, just going with it was out of the question entirely.

"You're taking a pretty big risk telling me this, Herr Brandt. What if I am with the MND, to evaluate your integrity?"

A test. Nika eyes his forehead closely, watching for the treacherous pearls of sweat to appear. If he was truly hiding something from the Government, it would show there. And that would be a great opportunity to make him spill the beans on how close the Police was to catching her.
