I don´t think this is good idea. First, it will trigger many arguments about "devs are now under control of rich elitist vets, so they work on demand for them instead for all players like they should, and they will work on stuff that rich elitist vets want instead on work which is needed the most".

Second, this solution would be way too imbalanced, because vet players from trading factions would get big advantage over others from lawful and unlawful factions, because they simply have billions stored on their accounts already and their possibilities to obtain money are incomparably better.

Third, why should players pay for stuff which is in some cases done to fix previous mistakes. For example Omicron update you mention is in work at least partially to fix many times criticized buffer systems problem, which was not idea of players, but idea of previous devs. Players critized it from the beginning and it turned out it really was bad idea, which resulted in decreased activity in Omicrons. Why should players pay to fix devs´ mistakes?

I do have another moneysink proposition though, and that is th add a CAU IX that costs 1.8 billion credits and multiplies the armor by 4.2. It wouldn't be that big of a difference to make it overpowered, and it'd be fair for the people that can afford it.
This is not possible technically I think. As far as I know, the total value of whole character can´t exceed sum of 2,1 billion credits. So once player with battleship, guns and other equipment moves this sum onto account to buy the armor, character can be corrupted if there is some expensive fully equipped battleship.

tl;dr: Disco need some more moneysinks, but proposed idea is not way to go.

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.
