Slaves, A Rescue, And Sake

The crew were growing weary. Although they were having great success in their mission of spreading the message of the dragon mission and gathering donations for the cause, their jobs were tiresome, and they were kept constantly on their toes. Therefore, the captain had decided that he must acquire something to cheer them up... Sake.

Hence, they headed to the New Tokyo system, in order to try and catch a merchant hauling Sake, and ask them to donate some.

"A crew is only as good as it is dedicated. Dedication decays with weariness. Weariness can be expelled with alcohol."

However, what they encountered was not a Sake merchant, but a slaver - with his cargo pods packed full of slaves.
Appalled by this, Saitō Dōsan and his crew could not let this villain leave. However, the transport kept trying to move away - even with repeated warnings.

Soon, a KNF fighter, with a Golden Chrysantheum prisoner, found the Saitō Dōsan and the slaver. The slaver again attempted to make an escape - presumably hoping the KNF would distract the Kagutsuchi.

But this was denied, with a swift and accurate shot from the Bo-Hiya cutting the ship apart.

"Captain, the slaves are free, but probably not in the way they want to be... They're stranded in space now..."
Saitō Dōsan quickly rescued as many of the slaves as would fit in the ship safely - but many more remained in space.

Unfortunately, the KNF-requested transport was too late onto the scene, and over 3000 lives were lost.

"May they haunt us forever, so that we never fall as low as their recently deceased master..."

The Captain opened his eyes and saw another captive however - the GC pilot who he had ignored up until now. He quickly began negotiating the GC pilots release - knowing her destiny was none other than confinement to Fuchu prison, unless he could do something about it.

Suddenly, contacts appeared on the scanner - Outcasts.

"Hmm... good fortune comes in an unexpected form - even an enemy may be a blessing..."

Saitō Dōsan took the opportunity to help the pilot escape. He even shared with her some of his wisdom on the way.
"She was lost... and now I've helped her find her way... May she find what she is looking for and live the rest of her life in prosperity, and freedom..."

However, the day was not over for Saitō Dōsan when they reached Hokkaido once more. They headed back to New Tokyo, where they were confronted by a large number of naval forces. And a freelancer.

"Would you attack an old man, just trying to buy some Sake for his crew?"
Saitō Dōsan negotiated, and never gave up doing so. The KNF had no real reason to engage his ship - it would not be beneficial to anyone. So they let him purchase the Sake, using the Freelancer as a middle-man for the transaction.

"Not all KNF pilots contribute to this houses' sorrow then - there are still many among them who can think for themselves..."
