This is the map of the omega fourty-nine system, as you can see.

Let's focuse on the ice cloud circled in orange. This cloud is a part of the nebula barrier and contains both the jump holes leading either to Londonderry or Dublin.

Fortifying this cloud is the spirit of the project. It contains severals points, each of them being detailed thereafter.



1/ The mining of the entire ice cloud .

Since the very begining of the Molly mouvement, we did heavily rely on the use of such weapons. This tactic provide us some clear advantage when it comes to inter large vessels, as they are forced to move carefully among the mines or risk damaging important part of the said ship. It allow us more time to react and intercept them if this type of vessel ever launch an attack on the Republic.
Furthermore, with their speed lowered, they become vulnerable to our bomber squadrons.
Minefields can also be dangerous to fighters class vessels, but our pilots are for a long time trained to fight in such environment.
This part of the project shall be carried out in three steps :
- Keeping the area secured, cleaning it from the corsairs raiders patrols.
- Production of the mines.
- laying of the mines in the cloud.


2/ The installation of weapon plateforms.

This kind of military devices provides a precious additional cover for our forces already patroling the nebula, when it will come to defend the area.
In addition the cover provided will be essential for our workers, upon the building site of a fortified outpost. Which will be tacked in point three.
This part of the project will also be carried out in three steps :
- Keeping the area secured, cleaning it from the corsairs raiders patrols.
- Production of the weapon plateform.
- installation of the said devices.


3/ The building of a fortress.

The addition of of a fortified outpost would be the cornerstone of the whole project. Equiped with long range scanners, it will be able to detect any unidenfied ships incoming. It will also provide a launch point from our patrols, allowing them to intercept any enemy forces, far sooner.
Equiped with standard canons, this fortress should add a new level of protection in its vicinity. Of course addional garrison and stockpile, would make it able to whistand a siege until reinforcement from Derry and Dublin could be sent.
It's supposed that our forces will be able to locate an asteroïd of huge size, covered in ice, in which we will hollow out the whole interior to build the new station; alike it was done with Lisburn Rock or Mull base.

- The search for a suitable asteroid.
- Keeping the area secured, cleaning it from the corsairs raiders patrols.
- Drag it to the right place
- The carving of it and then start the interior building, the installation of the canons, airlocks, docking bays, control tower, scanners...




The whole fortification complex should allow us, if completed, to defend the Nebula Barrier ice cloud far more efficiently, and therefore both Dublin and Londonderry from any threat coming from the omegas.
Furthermore, it will imply that we'd save more forces which would be available on our other front.

This is of course the first draft of the project, and would probably need some sort of improvement.
