Discovery going Standalone / hosting Freelancer.ISO on our site

I think it is about time now.

I am sure someone with more legal knowledge regarding France can correct me on this, but perhaps we can risk one ''Cease and desist'' strike regarding the project that is Discovery Freelancer. Now that MS themselves have nuked even the digital download page for Freelancer, it is rather clear that their interest in the game has lessened. Unless GoG decides to add FL to its list, we should be able to at least attempt to include the game inside the installer.

Right now the only legal way to obtain the disc is ordering from Amazon or Ebay, both of which is not possible for everyone and their stock has no relation to MS. MS would not see any profit from purchases made from those retailers anyway.

Before you say it is not possible, the Disco server used to host the ISO anyway.

There is also the subject of torrents right now. Recently there was a flood of people asking on how to obtain the ISO on my channel. It turns out that most safe torrent sites these days do not seem to have Freelancer at all. The ISO is actually getting rare. It makes it problematic for us to obtain new people if they themselves cannot find the game for which the mod was made.

This is sort of necessary. We have no control over sources of distribution. We might need to become one.
