ALG is a diverse industrial company that a lot of people like to shoehorn into "toxic waste".
Waste Disposal has always included scrap, since scrap metal is nothing more than waste.
You remember the Yanagi debris field? And have you noticed how it isn't there anymore?
Yeah, that was us.

We have the largest operational smelter in Sirius which has been eating scrap for centuries, and producing ship components more efficiently than any comparable facility.
ALG is also a major shipbuilding company - in vanilla days we were submitting designs for the next generation of Rheinland Battleship.

So no. ALG is not "mostly about toxic waste".
