I dislike the immense amounts of dubstep that we get today, everyone is making a lot of it, most of it is really crappy and not original. But Silvery Heavens was not bad at all. Focusing less on GROWLARGHOMGWOBBLE synths and modulation is the way to go! There is a lot of space for melodic content at 140bpm. One of your other tunes - Gone - is really good as well. Freaky atmosphere, melodies going around, nice sweeps and noises. The things you sampled are interesting as well, it really reminds of songs that have nothing to do with this genre, which is great. Outbreak is cool too. Nice modulation going on, pretty zombie. I believe music doesn't need to be IN YOUR FACE in order to make an impression, on the contrary - subtlety is absolutely key. I'd say you've gathered the required basic skill to make good music, so keep it up!

I've been struggling myself to create 'heavy' music without making it sound like a mess, but it's pretty hard. I've also been trying to break out of the usual drum and bass structure that is being used (netlabels have asked me to send them reworked versions of some of my tunes, but with a 'dancefloor' arrangement - 1 min intro, 2 mins verse, bridge, verse, 1 min outro, and the verses need to be the same). It's not easy, because in order to break the rules you first need to know them very well. Being creative in music is just the best, but it really helps to know how to do what is already out there before you go on and try to be unique and all-new.

Well, I'd love to share some of my stuff with you guys, if you want to check it out - it's in my signature. The thing that bugs me is that after making a lot of tunes in a row, I just break out of the cycle and can't bring myself to produce, sometimes for more than a month or two. It's a terrible waste of time, not making music.
