The problems with this are say bounties and sanctions. If you do something wrong to warrant a bounty, then the bounty won't be just for that one ship, but all. Minor, but something to think about. Sanctions too. If you do something to warrant a sanction, then the Admins will have to deal punishment to both ships, since they won't know which ship specifically was the offender.

Think about driving a car - you have a unique license plate. It would be like switching out license plates to each vehicle you have when you drive it. Would cause too many issues and wouldn't work sadly.

As a former Admin, I'm pretty sure this would be next to impossible given how DSAM works server side too. Best bet is do what was mentioned above and use different punctuation symbols for your character names.
