I would like to first thank my new brothers and sisters for such a speedy extraction from my predicament on Sprague. I hope we can find the time to discuss what little of my research I managed to get out with me at some point soon!
Well, as far as first days on the job go, yesterday was unusually involved!
At approximately 2010hrs our group RV'ed at Freeport 1, Omega 3. After a quick sweep of the system, there seemed to be no significant enemy presence.
The squadron then moved to North Bretonia, avoiding the trade lanes in the more heavily patrolled systems. We made our patrol as far as the Cortez system, and found nothing of particular interest beyond a group of ships engaged in a debate in orbit around Curacao. Under these circumstances the squadron returned via the trade lanes to the Manchester system.
Upon arrival at the Manchester system we set up an ambush on the trade lane between the New London jump gate and Birmingham Station. The ambush was a success, capturing two enemy transports, one of which was a Planetform vessel.
The first ship was "Ageira~Alan.Pace". This transport was hauling a quantity of consumable goods and a large amount of cobalt ore. A small amount of the alcoholic consumables were confiscated for our consumption (off-duty consumption of course). The transport was further ordered to await the arrival of the transport "GG-Gaian.Hawk" who collected the ore cargo.
The second ship was "Tradeakkul". This Planetform transport was relieved of a large sum in credits and allowed to move about it's business. Putting some literal dents in their ego would have been preferable, but who knows, perhaps they will think about the destruction wrought by their company and seek employment elsewhere as a result of our intervention last night. Most likely they will not.
A third ship of interest was spotted by GG-Gaian.Hawk during the journey to collect the Ageira ore, however we were unable to catch them before they moved well out of scanner range.
Our patrol ended at approximately 2140hrs, all ships returned to base without major incident.
