Major Fischer reporting in.
At 1730 today, we were ordered to patrol the Dresden system and search for possible Hessian activity. I was in charge of my brand new heavy cruiser, the Weimar and headed to the Straussberg where I met with the bomber squadron, namely
Gefreiter Hauser
Gefreiter Verstappen
Gefreiter Kohan
Flieger Steinweg
Our patrol started around 1745, when we were heading to the wreck of Pirna border station, then the vicinity of the currently occupied Leipzig station. Since no hostiles were present in the area, I ordered the patrol to the northern part of the system. We entered the nebula with caution where we found what we were looking for, hessians. Moments later, a Vidar class cruiser showed up out of nowhere. After some exchange of views, I ordered the bomber pilots to engage the Vidar from long range and so the Weimar did to speed up the whole process.
After the destruction of the Hessian vessel "Florian Geyer" a Bundschuh strike wing showed up, mainly Bergelmir class bombers. Flieger Steinweg had to eject from his Wraith before it ran into two mines, we got his escape pod and transfered the Flieger to Straussberg after the battle. Needles to say, the rebels were dying like flies, their action was pretty dumb, desperate. I advise gunboat pilots to be careful though, don't attempt to face such a swarm without proper escort. The rest of our unit returned to Straussberg unharmed after we cleared the area.
That's all for now.
Signed,
Major Andreas Fischer
