The question should be then... "Why do the Order have a cruiser themed for recon?"

And you guys say it's not geared towards a specialized recon/RP purpose, but can be quite a deadly one alone too. The Order lacks a normal cruiser/destroyer class as a replacement in the case of the recon cruiser getting re-purposed.

The way I see it, the Order would need either another cap to fill a normal role, or the recon cruiser stays the way it is. Maybe they need to change the lore behind it too.

One cruiser is more then enough for Order. While it's main purpose as it's infocard says is Recon with it's high tech equipment, one can roleplay it as regular support cruiser in Omicrons retrofited without all the scanner equipment and just be standard combat cruiser.
Resheph is one of the best RP cruisers in mod combined with cloak and similar equipment, IMO, and it's lore should stay intact.

To comment on OP, I agree with it, give it some more space with restriction to be able engage only in self defense.
It can't be abused in many ways then, and becomes hell of a RP platform for those who want to focus on that.
