Personally, I decided to go with the concept of an old world computer being placed into a new AI body. It has been fun so far, but you are correct, the Kappa starting point was a little hard to get rolling. If you invest the time into the project I am sure you will enjoy the results.

As far as I can tell, most AI/robots (as an individual player and not a part of Prime) are given opportunities to Role Play their own destinies. IE, it all depends on your approach to Role Play with the various inhabitants of Sirius.

Make it your own RP. Nothing concerning AI is established. There really isn't a whole lot of Lore that you need to follow. Take a look at my signature and read my story. It may give you inspiration and ideas on how to pursue your own endeavor.
