Early Life

Born and raised on Planet Houston, Adrianna and Conrad were no stranger to the more unwanted elements of Liberty’s society. Having grown up in an admittedly poor but healthy family, it was strange knowing that many of their classmates had been the children of convicted criminals, Rogues, Xenos and Lane Hackers. Not that it mattered to their child like minds back then; after all, who didn’t play cops and robbers when they were small?

Janina and Timothy Hawthorne, their parents, were hard working employees of Deep Space Engineering and thereby part of the indigenous industry for nano computing technology, had to work long hours to sustain their household, though it was fine; after all, who didn’t like staying up late when they were small?


Developments

Years passed and, even though unsupervised and unaided, Adrianna finished compulsory school education as the best one of her year, opening every imaginable career path to her. Conrad, on the other hand, never displayed any savviness in scholarly fields and followed their parent’s footsteps in becoming part of the industry.

The family planned on sending Adrianna to university, where she’d study advanced computing and programming, in the hopes of elevating at least one family member to a place where they’d not need to worry about money anymore, though this hope was dashed pretty quickly as DSE cut the wages of their employees due to apparent miscalculations of their financial branch in the Manhattan stock market.


Loyalty

Having felt like the third wheel of the family the entire time, Conrad was not content with accepting Adrianna’s fate like Janina and Timothy were. Having had a gambling problem for a while, he reached out to the less benign agents of Houston’s population, offering to undergo some of the more dangerous errant like Cardamine dealing on the streets to earn money to send his sister to the university she’d always wanted to visit.

For a time, it worked, and the money started to amass. Janina and Timothy never got to know any of this. To them, Adrianna was at work every day, not in a lecture hall. Karma has a way of getting back at everyone, though, and so it came to pass that Adrianna returned home one day to find her brother bloodied and beaten — assaulted by some addicts.


Partners in Crime

Seeing no way to hide what he was doing anymore, he told her everything. Touched by his devotion, they henceforth did small crime jobs together, with Adrianna as the one doing the deals and Conrad as the muscle to protect her and maybe break some bones whenever necessary. Soon, they moved on from simple street dealings and coordinated and committed armed robbery and arson for those who were in need of some rather well protected objects or those who simply felt the need for someone they knew or had a gripe with to disappear.

Adrianna finished her studies, again as the best of her year. Most would have stopped at this point, but they didn’t; they were good at what they were doing and it paid far too well. They always work as a pair, knowing that they can trust one another blindly. Now, with enough money to afford space crafts and leave Houston, they are on the lookout for new ways to put their teamwork to good use.

The Twins

Stoic, focused on business and with a volatile temper, Conrad is the industrious one. Having never really had time for interpersonal relationships or even a love life. The few free hours he had, he spent at a gambling table, which admittedly did more harm than good to the family’s finances, though it did open up the doors to his eventual new occupation. Since working together with Adrianna he’s become less reserved when it comes to his work. Adrianna was fine with theft, murder and so on, and adding to that, she was also surprisingly good at it. Morals weren’t needed anymore, and even though he technically could just try and settle down somewhere with the money he’s gathered, he enjoys his new life way too much to stop now.

Being born with a natural gift for working with numbers and technology, it was a sad happenstance that Adrianna had to be born on Planet Houston. She had always had difficulties talking and communicating with other people; she’d traded her social skills for intelligence, as it were. Only good things were ever expected of her and she was assumed to continue on and achieve great things. Her future looked bright, yet anything can change in a flash. Financial concerns were to prevent her from pursuing her education any further until her brother Conrad stepped in. Adrianna was skeptical at first where the money came from but soon forgot entirely. Due to her lifelong issues with society and people around her, Adrianna has few quarrels with the normally taboo actions; Murder, carnation, mayhem — they’re but games in her mind.
