i thought that one of the ideas ( although not really seriously thought out - but at least mentioned ) was to move ALL ( not only nomad ) stuff closer to each other - or in other words... balance things.
everyone knows that when you have better equipment ( that means an unfair advantage ) - others will seek and eventually find ways to counter that unfair advantage.
having balanced gear would do everyone good, no matter if you re ganked or not. - cause - at the end of the day, everyone, no matter if its nomad, liberty navy, the generic pirate, zoners or gallic royals are ganked. - mostly cause "being ganked" is for a very large part - subjective perception. ( and for a minor part actually happens - but even then - ganking is justified, to counter the aforementioned "unfair advantage" )
anyway - realism - especially realism of a secret faction or a faction acting in secrecy WILL cause boredom.
reasons for that have been pointed out already. - it takes a very specific kind of RPer to roleplay that.
its like kids playing in a sandbox. - for 90% of the time, they will play "war" - and they get utterly bored when they are playing "peace".
about the last post you made.... no - when all the mod is balanced ( or at least mostly balanced ) - but only one faction stands out. - the way to go is not to bring another faction to that level - but to bring the faction that stands out closer to the rest. - the calculation that a faction that is "supposed" to be better gets better gear - DOES NOT WORK.
or should a terrorist that is "supposed to be a descendent of a god" deserve an insta kill, siriuswide gun? - as pointed out, it just leads to justified ganking.
