I've had a look at the APM Hardware for routes with my arms dealer and it is quite limited in sellpoints, Research bases offer the best prices if memory serves which is fitting for your RP if not problematic for smugglers. Especially ones playing by the book and dont know about the secret research facilities.
Splitting the commodity up probably wouldn't help much, you'd only need to diversify who you sell it to in order to make it attractive or failing that, getting the various government to actively seek deliveries of Hardware (you'd probably have an easier time swimming in dried cement). Or even the militaries/intel agencies. Beyond that I think you'd probably need to sacrifice a House contact for more varied blackmarket connections.
