Because roads do not have 2,5-3T trucks, ever. And all drivers stay within the white lines. And because old people can climb such stairs.

Was also my thought.
I mean, it can be fixed by razor blade sharp laser cutters that make sure this bus can even make it through heavy traffic. About the elderly... that problem will strike in 20+ years massively, so no need to think about it nau!

The idea however is pretty cool.
