Spazzy is pretty much right about the lore thing. I can run it by the lore team, but I don't think they're going to complain at all. The separation was done for two reasons.
1: Ease of balance. It is much easier to balance ships against what they fight if they're fighting less targets. For example, the Greyhound could be easily balanced against the Templar or Guardian or Lynx, but right now it needs to be balanced against all three, making it one of the more lackluster ships in the game.
2: Turning the Z-Line into a generic pirate line. This has been desired for years by many people, and should prove to be a robust addition to the game.
CR Freighter name changed to Tyche at faction's request, since apparently a goddess of luck makes more sense than a goddess of fertility and harvest for a freighter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
