PvP = RP - I was ganked

It will never cease to amaze me how closed-minded and selfish people in this community can be. It's as if half of you consider the other players in game to be just the supporting cast of characters floating alongside your own personal bubble.

Every time I worry that I might have done a subpar or downright crap job of keeping a fight balanced and attempting to eke out some semblance of fair play for all parties involved, I remember that people like those infesting this thread still exist and feel better about myself. If I had to guess, I would say that the attitude stems from a total unwillingness to PvP at all on the part of these people, however much I doubt they'll admit it - they don't want anyone interfering with their 'safe space' where they type words and cyber all day, and will take whatever measures they consider effective (i.e. ganking the hell out of people) to discourage anyone from attempting to shoot their guns at them. You can call me cynical if you like, but I truly believe that's the heart of the issue.

Your roleplay is not some sacrosanct piece of art to be placed on a pedestal and protected at all costs. This is not a singleplayer or co-op game. Respecting the simple fact that the other players are there to play a game for much the same reasons you are should be paramount for any interaction - particularly those that revolve around combat vessels encountering each other. Traders and pirates is a different story - obviously, nobody is really going to enjoy forking over four million - but this disgusting idea that RP should trump simple OOC decency is, frankly, deplorable.

I hope to see Yber's associated cloud of murderous Sabres delivering large doses of Outcast-themed 'realism' to any player(s)and/or faction(s) who like to dick people over on account of it fitting their oh-so-pretty roleplay. While we're at it, I'll gear GRN| up to evict IMG from the Taus completely so they can be replaced with GMS (it's realistic!), and begin deploying entire 'fighter wings' of five or six people minimum to beat the living hell out of anything that so much as thinks about entering our ZoI.
