I'd like to ask whether there will be a definition somewhere of what will be acceptable as good RP?

Mr. Pineapples, there is no set definition, however, much like our possession of a sense of right or wrong, we can differentiate good RP from bad RP without much difficulty.

Equally there will be players whose first language is not English, and to a greater or lesser extent they will be limited in how well they can RP

English isn't there first language? I don't mean to sound like an elitist bastard, but tough. This is an English server, and if they can't speak the language, then they can't RP with us. RP is a thing of communication.

I'm also wondering whether this is an issue about cap ships or RP? I have to ask that if Cap ships are felt to be unbalancing the game when in the wrong hands why are we not be requesting them to be banned, and removed from the game altogether?

This has been tried before, and shot down vehemently. Capital ships are not in themselves bad, they server a purpose. However, the abuse of anything is bad, and capital ships are no exception. For example, abusing drugs and abusing coffee are both dangerous, however, drugs are abused much more often and to much more devastating affect. This is true of capital ships and fighters/bombers as well.

But RP'ing a character is a lot less clear, and a lot harder to make clear.

I have to disagree, as stated in my first point.
