Given that I have had a lot of time on my hands in the last days, I have been so kind as to compile our technicians' reports and demands regarding that which remained of the RNC-Schiller after the rather unfortunate outcome of the fight in Tau-29 many years ago. From that which could be salvaged, it has now been determined that restoration of the vessel to an at least servicable state is likely. However, it will take a considerable effort from us, as well as our allies.
I am not a technician, and I am sure most of you aren't either, and thus I shall be brief in presenting the current problems with the RNC-Schiller as far as I could deduce them from the reports I have brooded over for several days now.
Since it sustained heavy fire during the fight, most of its outer hull panelling has either been destroyed during the actual skirmish or by time now. It needs to be replaced in most critical areas. Furthermore, the vessel suffered critical damage to the engine system, which led to multiple secondary explosions across the vessel that finally led to it literally breaking apart. We have the parts, and they have been painstakingly fiddled together again over the last decade, but we need several alloys as well as Titanium to make this ship more than just a flying requisite — wouldn't want it to break apart during system jump now, would we?
The ship's computing systems are hopelessly archaic and inferior to anything that can currently be found on ships of the Houses, which is not surprising, given how old it is at this point. This in itself would not be a problem, but most of the optronic is also destroyed by now and needs to be replaced. Right now, even if the ship had weapons, we could not target anything with them, and finding any stellar object would be quite difficult without a working navigation system. The good news are that the life support has been restored at least partially now, and EVAs are only required in the undersection of the ship, as well as the bridge. Yay.
Furthermore, the ship's power core is completely burned out. Now, that is not really a problem for us, but I felt it prudent to mention that this ship will likely be a real power hog. The cloaking systems, weapons and auxiliary systems like life support will need to be fed by a Power Cell, but the engines necessarily need to be fuelled the old fashioned way.
Lastly, it should be noted that these are finishing touches. The Schiller is, on the most technical of levels, spaceborne — just not useful in any way. I have been so kind as to establish a delivery network where you will find a comprehensive list of the things that are needed. Keep in mind that those are estimates, and that it might very well become the case that more or less of something might actually be necessary. Now, with all that out of the way, go acquire what is necessary. Use your contacts and your chess pieces if convenient. Good luck.
