I am very interested in these thumbnails actually.
From what I see you're doing them quite well (while in this particular example the ships might be a bit too complicated).
I would like to encourage you in doing more of these for our to priority ships (see dev and my lists) if possible.
Because the hardest part (aside from texturing) is the concept-making.
So, let's say, if you could make a separate thread in which you could post such sheets with a dozen of thumbnails for each design that are to be done, you could actually facilitate the modelling process very much.
Aside from this, looking at your 3Ds I think you are about halfway to making quality models for submissions. While I don't have many models myself, I would suggest you to look at @Jinx 's render collection. Whatever people could say about his works, he definitely has a strong sense of taste and his models beat mine in their general-look and style (while I am more patient to details, I suppose, hard to judge oneself).
So yes, keep up, I am waiting for you to join the modelling club.
