Do you think that this no longer happens? The admin team is a decent size, but even there, this is not their full time jobs and they have limited amount of time/resources; cutting corners may still be a problem.

It certainly has the propensity to happen, as I and others have done our fair share of arguing to make sure that a sanction is actually following the wording and spirit of the rules, and always erring on the side of caution when it comes to decisions. Some members of the staff either don't see it that way or (as is far more likely) are too busy with other duties to really have the time to sit down for every single sanction that flops onto the desk. Is that a problem? Definitely, but at the same time, I can understand it, especially when the feuds between group X and Y get out of hand and reports start flying back and forth because both groups are clearly in the right when, honestly, they both have things to own up to. That's why we try to have a varied team, although some parts of the community are certainly misrepresented. However, a varied team includes a varied admin team, and if that's something that's lacking now, then we need to change that.
