Everything suddenly was slow, like everyone was walking through water. Nika had to protect herself. She had to fire. The soldier neared her, but the moment she pressed the trigger it just clicked.
Shit.
Empty.
A quick look over to Anna told her that the woman was in no condition to help her. She got up, collected herself, even managed to fake a tear rolling down her cheek. She needed to give Anna time to recover, to attack him from behind. There was no way she would be able to stand up to a trained soldier, but if she could delay him for a few seconds by looking fragile and worth protecting, her friend might have a chance to hit him in the back. She dropped the useless gun, pulled her arms to her body to look like a small target. Now please let Anna recover quick enough...
