She looked around the room and saw the men taking video records from the database.

Someone tipped off Daumann and the Corsairs about this, I guess you're on to it.

One of the soldiers looked back and grabbed Anna by the shoulder pushing her up against the wall. His mask eluded his face but Anna starred dead at him.

How long have you known?

He said in a serious tone, his hand was over his holstered pistol.

My wing was in charge of getting the supplies to Vogtland for this operation, the Corsairs attacked us too close to Fretial to be a coincidence. Just now we fought our way past the Stations storage facilities and the diamond reserves were nearly gone.

He dropped her and starred at her some more before speaking.

Your mission's done here. Get back to the hangar bay for exfill, and by the way. This never happened.

Anna and Annika walked out of the room. Anna felt like she had been hitten by a bus. She collapsed in the shuttle's seat and waited to return home.

-Hours later-

When she got back, she found a message waiting for her on her desk, the bottom was signed by the Brigadegeneral.

She received her promotion to Hauptmann. She didn't bother to look at the reasoning, she didn't care. She laid back on her bed, crying. Thinking of what here father would've thought. Thinking of her past completely. The new position was a reward but she knew it would also become a huge burden.
