Long Answer: Why is it that you think the argument that "i do not have time to type fast enough becasue he will get away" is a valid excuse to NOT roleplay enough before you attack?

If the person is getting away, that usually means they don't want to roleplay and thus will suffer the consequence of the offenders wrath for not obeying or listening to them.

Quick answer: CD and type faster.

People can only type so fast. I write about ~120wpm and it still isn't enough time for me to react. You can't CD while the chatbox is opening, normally causing you to hit escape to not send messages, closing the dialogue.

This answer is also not even valid for 50% + encounters that people face. What about the group fights?

No time for loitering around when people need help.

What about the standoffs where both sides are not backing down?

Then go argue with the stand off or watch it boil down.

What about when you are at an advantage in speed and can afford the time to write more?

Speed may be a thing, but also distance from the end point. Distance is a huge factor.
